In Part 2 of her 10 questions interview (see Part 1), Jewel Staite shares memories about the people, places, and episodes that made Stargate unforgettable.
I’m going to say the name of some cast and crew from Stargate, along with a few key words.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear:
Bandanas. The man likes his bandanas.
Coop! Writer extraordinaire.
They put me in a freezer truck for this episode and then we found out we were cancelled while I was in the freezer truck.
I mean, literally cool.
But not cool.
Plus I’m a huge fan of Connor Trinneer as an actor and as a person, so I’m biased.
Paul and I are very tight, and he knows everything there is to know about me. He’s a big brother to me, he was the MC at my wedding, and I love the snot out of him.
She’s a giggler, that one.
Three piece suit.
Seriously, he was always in a suit and always looked fabulous and was also always eating. You go to a restaurant with Mallozzi, and you best be prepared to eat the entire menu.
I love everything about that lady. Her humour, her kindness, her generosity, her class. She’s a knockout.
So much dirt!
We shot in a tiny room full of dust and literally dirt and were covered in it by the end of each shooting day.
We were also big babies when it came to the stunt stuff and demanded production buy us massages after the episode was over.
That’s what you get for putting Jewel and David in stunt scenes!
3am. The time my alarm went off for my my first day to get to work and get into hair and makeup.
Know what time Starbucks opens?
The last time I saw Brad we happened to be sitting next to each other on a flight from Toronto to Vancouver and it was a lovely surprise.
Great Dane Puppy.
Sweet Jay. Larger than life, generous, and as delicious as pie.
I adore him.
Everything that’s happened to him success-wise, he entirely deserves.
Masterful. This guy can really do it all.
He’s the kind of actor you can just sit back and watch and lose your place in the scene.
I know, weird association.
He told me a story a long time ago about a huge eagle in the park that flew down and tried to pick up his 2 year old and I’ve never forgotten it.
Thanks for the nightmares, Martin!
SIGH. Best food of my life was on SGA. Best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had.
We all got addicted to them. We called them crack sandwiches.
It was bad. The clothes stopped fitting.
Andy is just fun. Silly, happy, great to be around.
Super smart and fast-moving on set, knows what he wants and gets it, but it’s always a fun set when he’s at the helm.
David and I have a similar sense of humour. There have been several occasions at conventions where our eyes meet about something going on and we start laughing our heads off.
Best collection of pants I’ve ever seen. He has one pair covered in cartoon kitty cats.
Only Chris can pull that look off.
Handsome as hell.
And has the best gossip.
